2020 Malbec

Let me answer your first question right out of the gate, yes, it is once again inky AF.

So much lovely perfume right out of the gates. All our 2020s have had this gorgeous fruity, floral, mineral fragrance to them that I just can’t get enough of. The 2020 Malbec leans towards rose petal, strawberry, and wet granite. The second layer only takes another few minutes to appear, and suddenly there is coffee bean, chocolate, Old Bay seasoning, blackberry, and dried apricot.

There is even more fruit in the mouth starting with blueberry and cranberry, leading to tons of fresh-cracked black pepper, star anise, cardamom, and graphite.

Delectably smooth once you start sipping, but with enough tannin & acid backbone to hold up to all sorts of fun foods. Saucy, sweet baby back ribs, Moroccan lamb tagine with apricots and almonds, popcorn spiced the way you want it (Old Bay seasoning for me!), and your favorite summer movie projected on the side of the house.
